Lavender Essential Oil :

This blog will provide information you need to delve into the world of all natural beauty products, essential oils, herbs, and other things all natural that come up along the way that I feel are important to talk about on this subject and many more. My role as a mother of two, a wife, a friend, a daughter and a full time employee, give me the ability to witness all aspects of life and see what we have too much of and what we are lacking and try to balance love, family, play time, and work all at the same time.
Life is about balance. I hope you feel the same way and can take away some bit of infromation that you will find helpful in your life. - enjoy!

Lavender Essential Oil:

I thought I would start my very first all natural blog by providing information on one of my favorite and what I feel is a most beneficial essential oil. I keep it right in my kitchen for burns and abrasions. Lavender is one of the only essential oils that can be applied “neat” or directly to the skin without any carrier mixed with it. This means when you get a small burn from the stove (like I am likely to do when I cook : ) is to put a small amount of oil directly on the burn and it instantly relieves that horrible burning feeling. It doesn't have too strong of a camphor smell, it is light and floral. I have used it for soap, lotion, and bath salts and is wonderful for all. It will also help to promote healing of the skin faster. It is just a wonder oil and it smells heavenly!

Lavender Bulgaria Essential Oil: Lavandula angustifolia, ( steam distilled flowering top, Bulgaria.) ( *note: Bulgarian lavender is one of the middle of the road lavenders – not too expensive and has the same properties as some of the more expensive oils )
Lavender's aroma is floral, herbaceous, light with woody undertones. Among its many properties, it's known to be analgesic, antidepressant, antirheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, bactericide, cicatrizant, decongestant, deodorant, diuretic, fungicide, sedative. Soothes the spirit, relieves anger, valuable in manic-depressive cases.
Lavender has a sedative action on the heart, assists in bringing down high blood pressure, and relieves insomnia and muscular spasms and rheumatic pains. This is the first essential oil one should reach for in the case of minor burns and sunburn, keep a bottle in the kitchen (away from open flame!). Useful with menstrual problems, bronchitis and headaches, helps lower blood pressure. Useful in a diffuser in the delivery room to calm and relax everyone in the room.
May be useful with nausea, vomiting and colic. Keeps insects away. Purifies the air. Promotes growth of new skin cells, great healing effect on burns and sunburn, acne, psoriasis, boils, fungal growths and scarring. Lavender is one of the safest essential oils to use with children and the elderly. Blends well with bergamot, chamomile, citronella, lemon, and pine.

I hope you will find some of this information useful and are able to incorporate it into your daily lives.  Please bookmark my page and visit us again soon.

Love and warm wishes –
